An Online Education

Laying The Foundations

So, you’ve decided you want to supplement your income by working online, or maybe you have bigger ambitions & want to work online full time?  But what will you sell?  What service will you provide?  Where do you even start?  These are all questions that take a lot of time & research & more often than not put people off pursuing their dreams.  But wait, don’t give up just

If you were to build a house, the first thing you’d need would be to lay the foundations, the same applies when you set up any kind of business, online or off.

When you set out to work online, you’re in effect going into business as you’re working for yourself or selling other peoples products/services as an affiliate.

To be able to do this you need an education/training, the same way you would if you were to pursue a career or vocation in the real world. You wouldn’t for example decide to become a plumber, then the next day purchase your tools & set to work as a plumber without any qualifications.  The chances are you’ll get zero business without any qualifications or experience.

You’d go on an apprenticeship or perhaps a college course & this applies to pretty much any field you wish to pursue.  Yet when it comes to working online many people seem to think they will become overnight millionaires without investing a penny or any study. You’ll also need to invest a lot of time.

The bonus side of training online is of course, you can learn as you build, so you can get started from day one pretty much.

Investing In Your Future

If you were to train for a vocation in the real world it would take years of study & would cost a small fortune, putting you into debt for many years to come.  So paying a small monthly fee for an online system which is in effect training you for a future career is an investment.  Plus the people offering the training are entitled to an income for their work, you wouldn’t work for free so why would you expect anyone else too?  Especially when so much is on offer.

The amount of training within Wealthy Affiliate for example is immense.  Ever aspect of online marketing is covered in depth, from setting up your very first website, keyword research, utilizing social media, Google Adsence, Click Bank, Amazon Affiliates etc.  More on this will be covered in future articles.

Choosing A Path

Although it can help if you have an idea what area of business you’d like to focus on (a niche) you’ll get plenty of ideas from within Wealthy Affiliate, many simply sell the education & training as their product, which is one path that I myself have decided to pursue as I think it offers marvelous value for money.  Plus the compensation package is great.

Anybody Can Do This!

The beauty of affiliate marketing is pretty much anybody can do it.  The following list gives some examples of target audiences, but this is far from a complete list.

Stay At Home Mums (Or Dads)
Elderly or Retired with A Lot Of Spare Time
The Sick Or Disabled With Access To A Computer
Part-Time Employment
Ebay Sellers
Summer Job Seekers
Office Workers
People with Undesirable Jobs
Minimum Wage Workers / McJobs
And So On.

    Hi Jay.

This is great advice for any who wishes to start their own online business. I can also promise you that you do not need to take a loan at the bank to start. LOL

Oh I know you don’t need a bank loan, but even a small fee is a problem for many people, which is why it’s good sites such as WA offer people a free way to get started. Thanks for leaving a compliment, have a great weekend.

Interestingly enough, a lot of people hear about working online and think it’s just a matter of signing up, and automatically you start earning money. So when things fail to bear fruit they complain it doesn’t work, then it’s just easier to think negatively and look for someone or something to blame.

Like you’ve posted here, it takes a foundation, training and, of course, some patience. You’ve pointed to a resource that I know and can vouch for that works. Anyone wanting to be a success Online, should definitely heed to this advice.

    Thanks for a great article.

    Best of luck to you.

    Hi Jay:
I had to visit this site of yours.
So honest, professional, very informative, well organised and very clean looking.
    I enjoyed it.
Please let me tell you my experience in working from home:
I joined Get Paid Social and discovered it is a total scam organised by one Jeff Long.
You have to pay $20 to join the first month of membership and then $10 monthly. Jeff tells you you will do about £ 300 min if you complete just 25 tasks a day. (click here type, and like FB type, and surveys), because he will throw daily hundreds of this tasks and surveys to you.
In reality you will get only 3 simple task (click here type) max in a lucky day, (zero tasks most days) so in one month you will make exactly 4 cents/task x 1.5 tasks/day average x 30 days = $1.8/month.
    Very remunerative scam, isn’t it?
Unfortunately the internet is full of scams like this.

Unfortunately the net is rife with these types of schemes, I have seen this one around but haven’t had time to get around to reviewing it yet
