How To Create A Favicon For Your Website
A Favicon is a small personalised logo for your website which shows up on the tab & address bar of your web browser & helps your site and business look more professional. They aren’t difficult to create and are easily integrated within your WordPress site.
When you get to the website you’ll see a selection of options, there’s no need to create an account at this point. We’ll focus on the square box filled with smaller squares, these represent the pixels. And by selecting a colour you can fill these squares to create your image. It’ll probably take you a little while playing around getting the colour right and understanding how to make things look how you want.
How To Select Colours
To the right of the yellow box you will see the colour picker, when you hover over an area within the picker a small cross hair will appear & you can select which colour you want, every time you select a new colour, the previous will be added to the boxes for reference.
Lets Get Creative
You may already have an idea of how you want your Favicon to look, what colours etc, or you may be doing this blind and seeing what you come out with like myself. But after about 20 minutes I came up with my a2z Logo which looks fine. You can add colour to the background if you wish or create patterns, just experiment and have some fun. You can also add images via the side menu but I found it looks a bit cluttered and tend to prefer a more simplistic look, but give it a try if you want.
It also allows you to import an existing Favicon if you decide to edit it further in the future.
We’re almost done now, we just need to save our Favicon to our Computers so we can upload it to our WordPress site.
